Israel Esquilin (born October 1, 1971), better known as DJ Izzy Rock is a prominent DJ / Producer and Re mixer. Born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Izzy came to the Bronx at the age of 2 and was raised in the south Bronx.

He was introduced to DJing while going to house parties and break dancing back in the 80s. His best friend from junior high school introduced him to turntables and vinyl at the age of 12. By 14, Izzy was doing birthday parties, sweet 16s, and was contracted to do all the High School dances for Vocational High Schools in the Bronx. At that same time, Izzy’s father who is also musically inclined introduced him to the keyboard/piano. Izzy’s father was a much known musician in the Christian community in Puerto Rico. His father plays piano, guitar and bass very fluently. One day his father left the piano in the living room and Izzy stayed on it for 2 days playing and learning it. Needless to say, Izzy learned to play piano, drums and a bit of guitar. By 17, Izzy was set in his first Midi Studio. He was running off an Atari 1040ST running Creator Notator, a Korg M1, Roland D20, D50, and Ensoniq EPS as a sampler. He started remixing songs and played them at all his gigs. He then teamed up with his partner DJ Tanco and they both have been collaborating and partners since.

Izzy was influenced by the like of groups Genesis, Phil Collins, Frank Zappa, Stevie Wonder, U2, and Michael Jackson to name a few. He is very fluent in all styles of music from rock, to the urban hip hop, r&b, reggae, reggeatton, house, and Latin. His passion for music has no boundaries. His music creation and passion to move the crowd was influenced by DJ Saint Pete, Jellybean, Todd Terry, Holiday and Victor Vargas, and Albert Cabrera to name a few.
On the technology side, Izzy has always been technologically savvy. He went from spinning on vinyl to cd’s to now laptop computer. He was testing PC/MAC DJ Software since 2003. He was one of the first Bronx DJ’s to adopt both Virtual DJ and Scratch Live as true contenders.

Izzy is currently playing in Bronx clubs/bars during the weekends and has established himself as very skilled and most wanted DJ. Playing in spots all over like Lime Light, Club Heaven, Fire Island, Flamingos, Club Mumbai, Mi Gente Café, Kokonuts, GameDay, Sports Plus Café, Vida Lounge, Gypsy Teas, opened up Tropicana Nightclub, Coco Bongos, Martini Lounge, Club Arena, Pompeii Lounge, Beso Lounge and Studio 21. The center of the studio is Korg Triton 88 LE Extreme, Roland Fantom XR, JV 2080, Native Instruments Maschine, Komplete 7, and Omnisphere. The home studio of today requires less and less equipment compared to years ago.

In January 2009, Izzy is the proud CEO of NITELINE RADIO an internet radio station streaming live 24 hours a day online. We were the first internet radio station that was streaming to iPhone/ipod Touch, Droids and Blackberry. In October 2009, NiteLine Magazine is formed and is managed by his wife Yvonne Esquilin.

Izzy Rock has his own DJ TEAM associated with the radio station NiteLine Radio. But Izzy has been accepted to become part of the TRI-STATE’s most elite DJ COMPANY the DJ KINGS. NiteLine Radio is now NYC’s #1 Internet Radio station broadcasting worldwide in over 20 countries 24 hours a day 7 days a week!

I collaborate with LA MEGA 97.9 FM in NYC, MAGIC 96.5 FM in ARUBA and RUMBERO 102.3FM in VENEZUELA.

In October 2010, I formed my own label called BLACK STORM MUSIC. This will be a label for DJ RE MIXERS and soon we’ll get a few artists on board.

In March of 2011, after 9 months of planning - the offices of NiteLine are now located at 3425 East Tremont Avenue in the North Bronx! A beautiful facility that is the main office, broadcast studio and recording studio all in one!

Special shout out to his loving and very supportive wife Yvonne who continues to drive him to push for nothing but excellence.

UNTOUCHABLE Unsigned Artist of the Week: Misfit Dior

As a child Laeticia Harrison-Roberts would play dress up in designer couture gowns her dressmaker mother would be altering for a lord ando and so’. Constantly surrounded by luxurious but extremely expensive clothes, she never dreamed being able to afford, she took the ideas she got from them and drew pictures of dresses she believed being a princess she had to have, her mother would make her designs come to life and some might say created a fashion monster as by just 4 years old, she was the youngest to enter but didn't stop her winning the 'design an outfit for Barbie' competition. her design was made up and manufactured for Barbie, from then on all this little girl could dream about as she danced, sang and strutted around as if on a catwalk was a future of fashion and entertainment. Always the exhibitionist she had to make a new outfit every week and in her teenage years, as she worked the club scene in London it would be something of the talk of the town - "what fashionable creation will she be teaming up her new Dior shoes with this week ?!" in her early teens instead of school she took a job at a designer boutique where she received clothes as form of payment, this young girl would walk around in high end designer suits such as Versace and Lawrence Steele to which most girls her age have not even heard of, not Laeticia - she knew everything about fashion, she spend her pocket money on vogue every month and studied every designer and supermodel. Christian Dior stood out the most for her and she was to become a life long loyal fan she began modeling and landed among other notable jobs the "Top Shop" billboard campaign Spending the summer working in Ibiza she returned to a new sound in her ears Gangsta Rap, her music tastes had taken a dramatic turn from "The Cure" to N.W.A, learning all the lyrics to NWA's ‘Straight Outta Compton’ album she would perform her perfected raps to any one that would listen, and someone did, noticing her talents the CEO of indie label street dreams quickly signed her. she was thrilled to be able to entertain with a voice now as modeling had started to feel a bit like being just a clothes hanger to her. she spent the next year writing, recording and developing her sound, performing and featuring on many of the London based mix-tapes around the same time she had met Proof (of D12) while he was on a tour in the UK they struck up a close friendship, he would help her with her rhyme patterns and after a drunk game of chess one night he blurted out her stage name should be "Misfit" 'fit' is a fond term given to a cute person in the UK and "as girly as you are, you hardly fit the rapper stereotype". He would continue to mentor her closely until his death in 2006.

The Dior part of her name came later, affectionately from fans due to her growing obsession with the fashion house. Misfit had another dream to live in new york and she came to a point where it was now or never, so just like that, she packed up the contents of her Covent Garden, London apt and with about $300 on her took a one way flight by herself to New York
Some what daunting for her at first although it wasn't long before she found an apt in Brooklyn, made new friend and was a regular on the New York club scene, working the door at some of the more exclusive parties to make ends meet, she was able to network and put the word out of her musical talent passing her demo out, however still trying to get herself back on her feet in this new life her music suffered a little, but she got in the studio as often as she could afford. She Released Mix-tapes such as “Sex Sells” with her friend, singer Tha Law under their group name Misfit & Tha Law, where they performed their single “Hey Boy” in and around New York’s trendy hot spots. Misfit Dior continued to work in the studio, featuring on mix- tapes but always felt it a struggle to be taken seriously in the male dominated world of rap, she would constantly be told she needed to be ‘more Britney/ Christina’ that hip hop wasn't for her. Frustrated she even tried toning down her flamboyant fashion sense in a hope to blend in with the guys more. However In 2006 Misfit was asked to participate in the VH1 reality show “The White Rapper Show”. The show’s January 2007 airing was huge success in the US also in Canada, Europe and Australia and Misfit quickly became a fan favorite despite only featuring in two episodes, instantly gaining her millions of worldwide fans. Misfit perform and guested on many of the major radio stations across the country. She also landed the Ad Campaign for B.U.M Equipment Clothing featuring on billboards across the world including Times Sq and has been featured in magazines such as Complex, New York, Inked, Misbehave and YRB to name a few and was the lead in the movie short ‘Arc of Light’. Still hearing that she needed to tone down her lyrics, she found herself a vocal coach, and began singing lessons to expand her musical options. Working on a brand new album with a whole new sound somewhere in the middle of the bubble gum pop she had been asked for with the edginess of her raps. describing it, she fondly calls it Hip Pop. ‘Mr Plastic’ was digitally released the last quarter of 09 and with a cameo role in the upcoming movie Sex and the City 2 out in 2010 and her new album in the works, which she says is going to surprise a lot of fans with a new sound from what the world has already heard, its looks like 2010 is going a promising year for Misfit Dior.

UNTOUCHABLE Entrepreneur of the Week: DL Maclin (Founder / C.E.O.)

Born in Chicago Illinois, DL Maclin is a young and gifted entrepreneur that has entered the fashion world with a humble and work driven attitude. Being a man of determination, DL's knowledge and insight for fashion later successfully paved the way for his natural skills in designing his line. As a young man, he dreamed of becoming a success story and an industry leader by setting high standards in the fashion industry. With DL's vision and creative mindset, the sky is the limit!!
At the young age of 12, DL began to pay more and more attention to fashion and realized that he could bring more to the table. He felt that he needed to be around the fashion limelight so that he could be one with what he loved the most. Trusting his instinct, he decided to live with his mother in New York City. The scenery and energy of the city inspired his creative palate and imagination to create clothing that he hoped he could one day share with the world. And thus, a CEO was born.
In New York, DL studied Industrial Arts and Business. After graduation, he moved to Memphis Tennessee to help run the family landscaping and design business. However, in 2001, DL was presented with an opportunity of a lifetime. He was discovered by an up and coming model whom also ran his own modeling agency. Due to DL's love for the fashion industry, he left the family business and accepted the opportunity.
In 2002, DL traveled from Memphis, to Atlanta, New Jersey and New York competing in several fashion and hair shows such as Bronner Brothers International Hair Show, John Blassingame, publisher of Hype Hair Magazine, Black Mens Magazine, and SSX Magazine.
In 2003, DL decided to end his modeling career and pursue his dream of starting his own clothing line. He realized that Memphis needed its recognition for its trend setting styles as other major fashion cities. He created the Adonai® Signature Clothing logo and the brand was officially born. He is currently working with a team from coast to coast and is as still driven as he was as a child in New York.
